In exercise of powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act,
1955 (10 of 1955) read with clause 4 and 5 of the Sugar (Control) Order, 1966 and Order S.O.
No.234 7 (E) dated 07.06.2018, stock holding limit for the month of October, 2021 was issued by
Department of Food & Public Distribution vide orders dated 30.09.2021.
2. Now, considering the fact that some mills/traders are facing problem to lift the quota
allotted in the month of October, 2021 and in order to facilitate the dispatch of the remaining
unsold quantity of October quota thereby improving the liquidity of sugar mills· enabling them to
clear cane price dues of farmers; it has been decided to extend the time period for the monthly
sale quota of sugar for October, 2021 by 1 month i.e. till 30.11.2021.
3. Any violation of this order would attract the penal provisions under the Essential
Commodities Act, 1955, as amended from time to time.
